Welcome to the Silver Creek Golf Club Men's Day News page. In 2012 there will be some new and exciting (I hope) things happening. This page will be updated from time to time in an attempt to keep you up to date.
For the 2012 Men's Day season (officially from the first Tuesday in May until the final Tuesday in September) on the last Tuesday of each month will be a Low Net (flighted) tournament, but also an OPTIONAL LOW NET (not flighted) SILVER CUP POINTS RACE will take place. What is this Silver Cup Points Race? The men that pay $20 CASH or CHECK by May 29, 2012 will be in the "Silver Cup" and will add points based on how they finish against the entire field (top 40 earn points) on May 29, June 26, July 31, August 28 and September 25. The final event on September 25th will be worth DOUBLE POINTS so that those behind can make a comeback. The points earned are added for each of the final Tuesday events and one third of those entered will earn CASH back!! I did a mock run of five low net events in 2011 and found about 84 different players participating. If all of those players ponied up the $20, the prize pool would have been - $1680 total. First place would have earned 15% of the kitty for a nice $252 bonus for their play, 2nd would have been paid 10% or $168 etc, etc etc. for 24 places. As for the 2012 season, click on the below link for the Mens Day Schedule for 2012: Note: Because of the new Silver Cup Race finale on the final Tuesday of September, the always popular Four Man Scramble (make your own team) will be played one week earlier on September 18th.  A lot of guys have asked about playing from the white tees. We can't do this on Men's Day as everyone should play the same tees for skins etc., but we are wanting to start a WHITE TEE day on Friday's at 11 a.m. in February to see how that goes. This will start out real casual seeing who shows up by 10:30 a.m. on Friday's. If it seems like a viable event every week, then it will evolve into a second kind of men's day.
